York's Shambles

I visited York in August 2021 and painted this view of the Shambles to demonstrate the wibbly, wobbly nature of the buildings. The original painting was done in watercolour, pencil crayon and ink.
All of my paintings are created in watercolour and ink in a sketchbook, in which I paint, draw and write every day. My style is really informed by my years of being a calligrapher. I’m really inspired by Grimsby and Cleethorpes, and wider Lincolnshire.
